From captivating hairstyles and striking fashion statements to celebrity appearances and an energetic musical performance, Lush Hair brought a refreshing dimension to Lagos Fashion Week 2026, transforming its runway presentation into a celebration of beauty, individuality and self-confidence.

As the Official Hair Sponsor, the brand delivered more than a product showcase. Anchored on its philosophy, “Be Beautiful, Be Confident,” Lush Hair brought together fashion, beauty and entertainment to demonstrate how hair can express personality, identity and individual style.

Vivian Obiano, Marketing Manager, said the brand’s participation was designed to deepen its connection with consumers beyond its products, using fashion as a platform to celebrate individuality and self-expression.

The showcase featured three product categories, each communicating a distinct message. Under the theme “Be Confident,” Lush Hair Extensions was represented by ambassadors Rachael Okonkwo and Anita, popularly known as Real Warri Pikin, who showcased the versatility of the extensions.

Hilda Baci represented the Hair Care category with the message “Live the Soft Life,” highlighting the importance of healthy hair as the foundation of beautiful styling. Damilola Agboola, Senior Brand Manager, said the campaign encourages consumers to prioritize hair care while enjoying the confidence that comes with beautiful, well-maintained hair.

The brand also previewed its upcoming Lush Hair Mousse and Oil Sheen, which will soon be available through its e-commerce platform, open markets and supermarkets.

Meanwhile, Folasade Adeleke represented the premium hair extensions category under the brand, LushNova with the theme “You’re That Girl,” celebrating women who confidently embrace their individuality and personal style.

A particularly compelling aspect of the presentation was its celebration of diversity. Lush Hair featured models of different body types and physical characteristics, including a plus-size model, a model with albinism, another with tribal marks, twins adult and child models. The representation reinforced the message that beauty is not restricted by age, size or physical appearance.

For fashion enthusiast and Lagos Fashion Week attendee, Bidemi Adeoye, the presentation offered a refreshing perspective on beauty and representation.

“What stood out for me was that Lush Hair did not simply come to display beautiful hairstyles. The brand made a statement about who gets to be celebrated as beautiful. Seeing models with different physical features and body types share the same runway was refreshing. It communicated that confidence is not reserved for a particular look or body type,” Adeoye said.

Popular personalities, including current Big Brother Naija winner Temi Nkem, Godessa, Barry and Chimso Chuka, also featured in the presentation. Their participation, alongside male personalities, reinforced the campaign’s message that self-expression transcends gender and conventional beauty expectations.

The runway experience was further enhanced by a collaboration with fashion designer Desiree Iyama, who designed the models’ outfits, creating a coordinated blend of fashion and hairstyling. The excitement peaked with a performance by Teni the Entertainer, who subsequently joined the runway as a model, showcasing Lush Hair extensions.

Beyond its runway presentation, Lush Hair contributed to the wider fashion event by providing hairstyling services for models showcasing collections by participating designers, including selected offsite shows. The hairstyles were created by professional hairstylists, including graduates of the Lush Hair Professional School.

Professional hairstylist Esther James described the opportunity as valuable for showcasing industry talent and the importance of professional training.

“Working at an event of this scale gives hairstylists the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in a competitive creative environment. It also shows that hairstyling is an important part of the fashion industry, not just a finishing touch,” she said.

For beauty consumer Ndifereke Mbang, the campaign’s combination of hair care and styling made its message particularly relatable.

“I like the fact that the message goes beyond extensions and hairstyles to include hair care. People want beautiful looks, but they also need to pay attention to maintaining their hair. This makes the campaign more relatable to everyday consumers,” Mbang observed.

Ultimately, Lush Hair’s presence at Lagos Fashion Week 2026 demonstrated how a beauty brand can build stronger consumer connections while contributing to the creative industry’s growth. By combining product experiences, celebrity engagement, inclusive representation, fashion collaboration and professional skills development, the brand brought its “Be Beautiful, Be Confident” philosophy to life.

Its message was clear: beauty has no single definition, individuality deserves to be celebrated, and confidence belongs to everyone.
